My diary
Sorry I've become so boring. Thanks to my 2 1/2 readers for your patience. We now return you to our not-so-regularly-scheduled blog. :)
A tallit-and-tefillin-wearing woman in a traditional Conservative synagogue?! An unorthodox—and non-orthodox—perspective on Jews and Judaism from a perpetual misfit. This blog, welcoming the entire Jewish community, is dedicated to those who take Judaism seriously, but not necessarily literally.

Still reading, but in blog-reader, so now it is more effort to comment- also, baby sleeping on one arm when I'm on the computer- but still reading. A belated Mazal tov to your son!
Maya, thanks for reading, and especially for commenting with baby on one arm! And thanks for the mazal tov, which our son worked hard to earn.
Sorry I haven't been commenting much. Congratulations to your son.
Larry, it's good to hear from you. Thanks for recognizing our son's achievement.
your blog used to be interesting. you had interesting discussions at which you pushed the Conservative movement on issues, and raised legitimate issues about orthodoxy. Lately, your religion posts are rants or rehashes (often containing incorrect information) or deal with your health or other things. I only keep coming back to see if you reverted back to the more interesting, thought provoking stuff rather than your "woe is me" approach. It's your blog, you can do what you want, but don't expect discussion when there's nothing to discuss.
Sorry about the "woe is me" stuff--I'm workin' on it.
I have, indeed, been remiss in not questioning the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism's and the (Conservative) Jewish Theological Seminary's plans to sell much of their real estate. Where are they going to go? Also, I must admit that I see the selling of property that was, presumably, donated to them so that they wouldn't have to rent as a bit of an insult to the donors.
"Nothing to discuss"?! Our son finally received his PhD after almost 9 years in grad school, and you consider that "nothing to discuss"?!
Or maybe you'll find this post more interesting and thought-provoking..
